What is an Albumin test?
Albumin is a protein that is produced in the liver. Albumin enters the bloodstream where it helps to carry vitamins, enzymes, and other important substances. Albumin also helps to prevent fluids from leaking out of the bloodstream. The purpose of the test is to check whether you have any abnormal levels of Albumin in your blood. Amounts that are too high or too low can be indicative of an underlying health-related problem.
