Apolipoprotein B (APO-B)

What is the Apolipoprotein B (Apo-B) test? The Apo-B test measures the main component of lipid metabolism found in our body. It is the major protein in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). Apo-B is considered a major risk marker for heart disease. Instead of analyzing LDL or VLDL to rule out the chances of any coronary heart disease, it is more specific to measure the Apo-B levels.
