What is a Lipase test?
Lipase is an enzyme that is produced by the pancreas that helps the body digest fats. Elevated levels of Lipase in the blood can be a sign that the pancreas is enlarged and inflamed, a condition called . Lipase values may also be increased due to other issues in the pancreas, the use of certain medications, or the health conditions such as kidney disease, cancer, and problems with the gallbladder or oesophagus.
